Pasta de Waraku @ Central

This is another family restaurant that is highly recommend. The pasta is simply delicious and the price range very reasonable. A lot choices to select from their menu. The Japanese way of cooking pasta is slightly different from the Italian. The Japanese prefer their pasta to be light and not overpowering.

The sauce is really light. I like the poached egg (done perfectly). The Vongole is served with salted sauce and plenty of clams. The Spaghetti Bolognese is also very nice. The sauce is not too sour. Simply delicious!

For side dishes, you can order the mini-pizza. It is oven-baked till it's crispy. The pizza is light and non-greasy.

You must really try their desserts. There are cakes, ice-cream and pudding to choose from. Their cakes and desserts are not that sweet so suitable for everyone.

Fish & Co

Some friends have commented that I only post Chinese and Korean food reviews. Being Chinese, I appreciate Chinese food more than the rest. However, I do visit restaurants that serve western food. One of my kids' favourite is Fish & Co. It's a nice family restaurant to go and they serve Kids' Meal too! The prices are also reasonable so it won't hurt your pocket too much!

I ordered the Seafood Platter for myself. The portion is sufficient for 2pax if you're not a big-eater.

For the Kids' meal, you can request for butter rice rather than the sinful fries!!!! The portion is just nice for them. I like the way they serve their fish in a pan. They also have grilled salmon for the health conscious.

I am sure you can find an outlet near you since they have 16 outlets islandwide.

Black Angus @ NUS Law Campus (Bukit Timah)

Tucked in Building No 4 of NUS Law Campus (Bukit Timah) is the famous Black Angus Steakhouse. If you're planning to eat a western meal away from the Orchard Road crowd, this is the place to go!

The Cream of Mushroom soup is really creamy and nice. You can taste the blended mushroom taste served with fresh cream and beacon bits. It's definitely not served from the can!
For the main course, you can order their famous steaks, grilled chicken, salmon, grilled fish fillet, seafood pasta, seafood stew or pork-ribs. The portion served is quite large except for the ribeye steak. The presentation is also nice. The food is served on large plates with some side dishes.

For desserts, you can order their famous cakes (baked and flown in direct from US). Each slice is about S$8/piece. So we ordered the famous New York cheesecake served with raspberry jam, brownie served ice-cream and American carrot cake. The cake slices are quite thick so you may want to consider sharing them.

Overall, I find the food nice and the ambience cosy and yet posh. The service is also excellent. The restaurant has also won a lot of prestigous food awards. Worth going!
